Artist's Comments
This is another of my Introductory Drawing assignments, this time, my Mid-Term Assignment.
The assignment was to get any real life photograph and make either a full-page charcoal drawing or an inking. As I do not like doing ink drawings, I opted for the charcoal. I love showing off all the various weaponry that I have acquired over the years, and so, whenever I get the chance to show them off, I take it. This time, I wanted to draw my recurve longbow. I started with a rough outline and coloring (see scraps for that image). After blurring and smugging the charcoal, I cleaned up the snow and added highlights on the bow. Then I retraced the lines for the edge of the bow in order to make it stand out more. I like the way this assignment turned out and can't wait to start the next one! Comment Please! |
