Pandora Letoarchos
Human (Cheliaxian), Female, 59, 145 lbs., 15 years old, grey eyes, black hair, pale skin; well toned and very beautiful, Undead Sorcerer
Pandora is the only daughter of Sir Victour and the twin sister of Pyriel. Born about one minute after her twin, Pandora was the youngest of all Sir Victour and Maeve Letoarchos children. She entered the world right on the heels of her brother, but their other brother, who would have been the youngest of the triplets died during birth. Thus, their parents only treated them as if they had been born twins. However, the failed birth would end up being a mysterious source of power for the child who didnt know she should have been born between two brothers.
Growing up, Pandora always tried to fit in with the other children, but she was just too different from them and they avoided her whenever possible. This meant that her only friend was her twin brother, Pyriel. While they were young, they often played together, but as they got older, Pyriel became absorbed in his magical studies under their mother. While Pandora tried to learn with him, she grew bored with the constant studying. One of her favorite pastimes while they studied was to freeze her glass of water. Her brother never seemed to notice, he was so engrossed in their mothers books, but their mother caught her doing it once. Astonished, she asked Pandora how she knew that basic spell when she had never been taught. When she replied that it just came naturally, her mothers eyes widened. Fearing she had been doing something wrong, she quickly began to apologize, but her mother cut her off telling her that she had done nothing wrong, she was just different from her brother.
When their mother became ill, Pandora could not sit still. Running to the local priests, she summoned them back to the house to see if they could help her ailing mother. When they couldnt do anything, Pandora grew despondent and fled to her room. Alone with no one to comfort her, she cried for many hours. After a while, the tears subsided and she realized that the one who needed her the most was her mother. Departing her room, Pandora ran to her mothers chambers and went immediately to her side. She took all her meals in that room and only left when she needed to relieve herself, hurrying back as soon as she could. There she remained until her mother passed away still holding her hand.
Having been touched (literally) by death a second time, Pandora found her connection to her magic more powerful then ever. However, she kept this information to herself because she feared that everyone would leave her if they knew. Little did she know that her brother was going to be leaving to be trained as a wizard and her father planned to marry her as soon as he could.
Finding herself without her brother and betrothed to a man she had never met, Pandora grew more reserved. Her manner changed completely over the two years she remained in Cheliax. By the time the two-year anniversary of her mothers death came around, she had had enough. However, having failed to escape earlier that year, her father had placed a guard outside her door to make sure his daughter didnt leave before her marriage, which was to take place about two months after her mothers two year anniversary. Realizing that she couldnt sneak past him, she did what she had been loath to do since her mothers death. Calling upon the magic deep within her, she cast a spell to drain the guards strength. The unsuspecting guard collapsed under the weight of his armor and she fled as fast as she could. Fleeing her hometown, she set out on foot and in disguise, a difficult task, for she was, by this point, hauntingly beautiful. Over the next several days, she made her way to the northern Cheliaxian border. Once over the border, she continued north, stopping only when she had to. Eventually, she passed out near the northern edge of the Uskwood.
Awakening to find herself in a cage, she realized that she wasnt alone anymore. Lying all around the cage floor, were other women, some of whom were asleep. One of the ones who was awake approached Pandora and seeing her awake, bent down and spoke in a whisper to her. Saying that her name was Drulia, she told Pandora that they were under the caring supervision of a group of slave traders. They were to be taught the ways of the skin and how to please a man, so that they would buy a high price in the markets of Magnimar.
Later that day, when the cage had been hitched up to the pack horses that drove it, the other women awoke and they were fed, though it was nothing more than a single roll of bread a piece and some water. After they had stopped for the night, they were fed once more, this time a thin watery soup with a few small vegetables in it. Once they had been fed, the guards came to collect their bowls. When they opened the cage door however, Drulia tried to escape and managed to make it past the startled guards at the gate. However, they quickly sent up an alarm and one of the other traders pulled out a bow and shot an arrow right through Drulias left leg. No longer able to bare the weight of her body, the leg crumpled under her and she went down. Dragged back to the fire by her hair, one of the guards put her where all the captives could see her and slit her throat stating that all who tried to escape would meet the same fate.
A few months later the captives and their captors arrived at the slave training camp. Many months went by while the women were trained in every art of seduction, sensuality, and sexuality known to humanoids. They were trained by elves, dwarves, humans, and even half-orcs. They were trained in the ways of dance and song in order to be more pleasing to those that might buy them. Despite all the things she learned, never once did Pandora let on that she could perform magic. She kept that secret to herself, telling no one, so that one day, she might escape.
However, there was one thing that she found for herself at the camp, a deep faith in Desna, the goddess of dreams, stars, travelers, and luck. While she had paid Asmodeus lip-service while in Cheliax, she had never truly believed in his teachings. A fellow slave was a devout believer of Desna and would often speak of her goddess to the other women. It was during one of these sessions that Pandora longed to hear more and went and spoke to that woman, eventually becoming a follower of Desna herself.
After a year had gone by, the slavers felt that they had trained their slaves long enough and that it was time to take them to the market to be sold. Putting all the captives who had survived back into the same cage they arrived in, the slavers began the long journey to Magnimar, where they hoped the slaves they had spent so long training would fetch a high price.
When they arrived at the market the captives found that the slave markets were in an older shop that was in a seedy part of town, where they wouldnt be bothered by the local law enforcement. They were showered as a group, perfumed, and dressed in exotic flowing clothing. Then they were paraded up onto the stage one at a time and made to stand there while they were sold like animals to rich men. The one who purchased Pandora was a rather large man who was richly dressed and escorted her into a waiting carriage.
They spent the next few days traveling to his home in Sandpoint where he immediately showed her to his bedroom and did as he pleased with her. Many weeks passed and Pandora knew that she would have to use her magic to escape. Finding herself being summoned to her masters bedroom almost every night, Pandora grew to hate the man. Finally, when she could stand no more, she called upon the power that she had only let herself glimpse before and killed her master with a touch. Taking what money and supplies that she could, Pandora fled onto the streets in nothing more than the clothing she had been wearing the day she was sold.
As Pandora was walking the streets, she saw someone she hadnt seen in more than 4 years, her twin brother. He was just entering an inn with an older woman dressed in robes. Following at a close distance, she crept upstairs and just past the room that they had been entered. A short while later the woman left the inn and Pandora took the opportunity to see the brother she had missed for so long. Knocking on the door, Pandora heard her brother get up and walk over to the door before opening it. Once it was open, Pandora threw herself forward and hugged her brother as hard as she could. When he asked who she was and what she was doing in his room, Pandora broke down crying, Its me! Dont you recognize your own twin?
After she heard of his travels and where he had been since they last saw each other, her brother asked her what she was doing in Sandpoint. Relating her own story, she began with her flight from Cheliax and ended with her entering that very room. When she had finished, her brother just sat there stunned for a moment. After a while, she asked if he wouldnt mind if she traveled with him, since she didnt want to go back home for a while and she didnt have a place to go. Assuring her that this would be fine, she hugged him one last time and then took out her gold and asked if he would help her buy some weapons to defend herself.
Since then, she has been traveling with her brother and doing what she could to help out. She is looking for work alongside her brother and is ready to continue to discover the mysterious power that she has inside her very body.
